It takes a dedicated chorus to make a traditional musical comedy and the Trenton Acting Guild?s production of ?Cinderella? is blessed with some of the most talented performers from the area as part of its singing group.

These people harmonize on the chorus songs, which include ?The Prince is Giving a Ball,? the opening number in the show. Members of the youth chorus also have a featured dance.

?One of the things that makes musicals so much fund is seeing so many people on stage and hearing their voices fill the auditorium,? Dr. Vicki Wheeler, the show?s director, said. ?I?m grateful for all those who come out to sing in the chorus.?

Several in the chorus are working with other family members, including mother and daughter duo, Cathy Allen and Tiffany LaSalle, who have performed together in several past TAG productions. Cathy madden is working with her husband Dave, who plays the King, while Tom Powell has two daughters in the show – Catie, who is playing Cinderella, and Beth, who has been cast as a step-sister. John Sampson is performing with his mother, Ann, who is playing the stepmother, and Lindsey Dustman, a singer and dancer in the youth chorus, is joined by her mother Jean, who is the show?s costume and prop coordinator.

Other performers join friends in the chorus. The herald, Mike Neifer, brought along not only his wife, Jennifer, who is running the lightboard, but also a friend from work, Paul Caldwell. Jessica Smith and Kaylynn May attended high school together at Grundy R-5 while Trenton students include Jessica Brock, Mitchell Bailey, Taylor Cox, Sabrina White and Emily Anderson.

Other adult chorus members who have made friends by working on musicals include Sandy Patterson, Krista Rickerson and Eric Lorenz, all of Trenton. These performers have previously been in TAG shows. Dr. Wheeler noted that singing in the chorus is a good way for individuals to get started in TAG and welcomes all newcomers.

Tickets for ?Cinderella? are now on sale at Total Entertainment Center. The show will be performed at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday as well as at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the Hoover Community Theater, located on the third floor of the Grundy County-Jewett Norris Library. Tickets are $5 and $6 and all seats are reserved.
