Sophie Blake, an 88-year-old resident of 1515 Locust St. in Chillicothe, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2002 at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty.

Sophie Blake, an 88-year-old resident of 1515 Locust St. in Chillicothe, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2002 at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty.

Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. today (Monday, June 24, 2002) at the Edgewood Cemetery in Chillicothe. Rev. Paul Knittle of Chillicothe officiated.

The pallbearers were Charles Morin, Duane Thompson, Terry Stretch, James Forst, Brad Gates, Jeremie Callaway and Jerry Roberts.

Mrs. Blake was born on April 27, 1914 in Seelenz, Germany, the daughter of Johann and Franziska Prchal Michelfeit. She attended Germany schools. She lived in Germany, moving to Hale in 1951, then to Trenton in 1953 and to Chillicothe in 1995. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Trenton. She was married to Julian Blake. He preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 2001.

Mrs. Blake is survived by one son, Siegfried (Zeke) Blake and his wife, Patsy, of Chillicothe; one daughter, Margaret (Maggie) Street of Trenton; four grandchildren, Margy Tatro and her husband, Chris, of Liberty, Stacie Blake of Platte City, Mrs. Andi Gates and her husband, Brad, of Platte City and Jamie Forst of Brookfield; and six great-grandchildren, Rachel, Christina, Blake, Travis, Lanie Forst and Khloey Forst.

Mrs. Blake was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters.
