James E. Standiford Sr. a 69-year-old resident of 415 Chalet Lane in Spickard, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2002 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at the Wise and Slater Funeral Chapel in Spickard. Rev. Bill Stanturf will officiate. Burial will be in the Martin Cemetery south of Spickard.
A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today (Monday, June 24, 2002) at the funeral chapel.
Mr. Standiford was born on Feb. 10, 1933 at Spickard, the son of Charles William and Frances Lorene Poppino Standiford. He attended Spickard schools. He lived in Grundy County all his life. He was employed at Trenton Foods for 22 years and also was employed by White and Ulmer Sales. He was self-employed in glass repair work. On April 25, 1963, he was married to Julia A. Atherton Clover in Milan.
Mr. Standiford is survived by his wife, Julia, of the home; one daughter, Rhonda Kay Stamper and her husband, Mark, of Pleasant Hope; one step-daughter, Diane Mercer of Trenton; two sons, Danny Standiford of Kansas City and James E. Standiford, Jr. of Spickard; one step-son, Robert Clover of Moberly; one brother, Jesse Standiford of Gallatin; two grandchildren, Brody and Dylan Stamper of Pleasant Hope; four step-grandchildren, Mathew Clover of Bow, WA, Christine Schlard of Moberly and Jana Burkeybile and Bobbie Ann Oxner of Trenton; six step-great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Cody Clover of Bow, WA, Jothan and Lindsey Schlard of Moberly and Bryce and Brandon Oxner of Trenton.
Mr. Standiford was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Eula Fern Downen; and one step-grandson, Anthony Stanturf.
