Alan Wayne Miller, a 41-year-old resident of Newtown, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2002 at his home in Newtown.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton with Rev. Guy Olin Thomas and Rev. J.C. Davis officiating. Burial will be in the North Evans Cemetery, east of Spickard.
Open visitation will be held at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18 at the funeral home, where the family visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until noon.
Mr. Miller was born in Phoenix, AZ on April 9, 1961, the son of Floyd Howard and Barbara Rose (Howe) Miller. He was united in marriage to Mattie Marie Gates on Dec. 6, 1987. She preceded him in death on Aug. 8, 2000. The couple moved to Newtown in 1997. He was employed by Premium Standard Farms as a nursery technician.
Mr. Miller is survived by his daughter, Kristal Price, and her husband, Walter, and three grandchildren, Katana, Jakobi and Jadan, all of Altamont; his mother, Barbara Oswalt, and stepfather, Dean, of Princeton; his father, Floyd Miller and stepmother, Diana, of Spickard; a stepson, Stephen Lavely, and stepdaughter, Rikki Siebenborn, both of Trenton; two brothers, Jim Miller and his wife, Isla, of Augusta, KS and Lonnie Miller and his wife, Julie, of Hot Springs, SD; one sister, Patricia Norton and her husband, Brandon, of Trenton; two half-sisters, Suzann Claus of Warren, MI and Christina Brasmer of Spickard; his paternal grandmother, Cleatise Miller of Trenton; one stepbrother, Eddy Oswalt of Princeton; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Princeton First Baptist Church. These may be mailed to the church at 1000 E. Main St., Princeton, MO 64673.
