Robert Lee Smith, a 70-year-old resident of Chula, passed away at his residence on Saturday, May 25, 2002.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Rev. Asher McDaniel officiated.

Music for the service included taped selections of ?The Old Rugged Cross? and ?I Saw the Light.?

The pallbearers were Jim Waits, Randall Chrisman, Chris Smith, Corey Smith, Steve Smith and David Moss.

Burial was in the Edgewood Cemetery in Chillicothe.

Mr. Smith was born in Livingston County on Sept. 21, 1931, the son of George and Dora Mae Smith. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a lifelong Livingston County resident and farmer.

Mr. Smith is survived by four brothers, George A. Smith of Chillicothe, Henry and Raymond Smith of Chula, and Gene Smith of Kearney; one sister, Betty Chrisman of Gallatin; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents.
