Mona Williams, a 51-year-old resident of 10120 North Highland Court, Kansas City, passed away at 1:20 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2002 at her home following an extended illness with cancer.

Mona Williams, a 51-year-old resident of 10120 North Highland Court, Kansas City, passed away at 1:20 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2002 at her home following an extended illness with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at the Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton.
A scheduled family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today (Tuesday, May 28, 2002) at the mortuary. The family will be staying at the home of Mrs. Williams? parents in Trenton, Scott and Oma Kent at 1707 East 7th Street.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Overland Park Regional Hospital Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit or the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Williams was born on Oct. 24, 1950 in Trenton, the daughter of Scott and Oma Bryant Kent. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1969 and attended Trenton Junior College. On Feb. 21, 1970, she was married to Max Williams at Trenton. Mrs. Williams worked at Mercantile Bank at Trenton for 10 1/2 years. They lived in Trenton until 1990 when they moved to Iowa, where she was employed with First National Bank, Firstar Bank and was assistant manager of the West Wings Apartment Complex. They moved to Kansas City in 1996 where she had been employed as a secretary for the Liberty Christian Church for two years. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Crandall United Methodist Church and the Beta Sigma Phi of Trenton.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, Max Williams of the home in Kansas City; one daughter, Melanie, now Mrs. Derrick Pierce of Shawnee, KS; one son, Matthew Williams and his wife, Anita, of Lamoni, IA; her parents, Scott and Oma Kent of Trenton; one sister, Marla Marshall of Galt; and four granddaughters, Kassy and Madison Williams and Kylie and Kirsten Pierce.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kent and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Bryant.
