Donald Forson, a 73-year-old resident of 601 B Kumler St. in Trenton, passed away at 7:25 p.m. on Monday, May 27, 2002 at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, where he had been a patient since May 22, 2002.

Donald Forson, a 73-year-old resident of 601 B Kumler St. in Trenton, passed away at 7:25 p.m. on Monday, May 27, 2002 at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, where he had been a patient since May 22, 2002.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Payne Funeral Home in Galt.
Mr. Forson was born on July 20, 1928 at Humphreys, the son of Eugene D. and Kathryn Merrick Forson. He graduated from Humphreys High School in 1945. On Dec. 8, 1951 he was married to Phyllis Cooper at Raton, NM. He served in the United States Army from January 1951 until he was discharged in January 1953. After his discharge they moved to Kansas City, where Mr. Forson was truck driver for Jack Cooper Transports Inc. for many years. He was then transferred to Denver, CO, where he drove until 1971. Mr. Forson was a self-employed carpet installer in the Denver area until moving to Galt in 1981, where he and his wife owned and operated the Payne Furniture and Carpet store for 10 years. Mr. Forson also was a volunteer firefighter for many years at the Arvada, CO and Galt Fire departments. He was a member of the Galt Christian Church, the Blue Lodge at Denver, the Trenton Masonic Lodge #111 A.F. & A.M., the Centennial Lodge of Perfection 32 degree Scottish Rite at Denver for many years and the American Legion Post at Chillicothe.
Mr. Forson is survived by his wife, Phyllis Forson of the home in Trenton; two sons, David Forson of Kansas City and Steven Forson of Nixa; three daughters, Donna Conklin of Polo, Debra Forson of Grandview and Diana Belz of Norborne; and by seven grandchildren.
Mr. Forson was preceded in death by an infant sister.
