Mary L. Colville, a 96-year-old resident of the Indian Hills Nursing Home in Chillicothe, passed away at 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2002 at the nursing home, where she had resided since Feb. 14, 1997.

Mary L. Colville, a 96-year-old resident of the Indian Hills Nursing Home in Chillicothe, passed away at 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2002 at the nursing home, where she had resided since Feb. 14, 1997.
Graveside rites will be held at 1 p.m. on Tueday, May 14, 2002 at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Trenton. A great-nephew, Father Gary Applegate, will officiate.
There is no scheduled family visitation planned at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home.
Mrs. Colville was born in Trenton on Nov. 5, 1905, the daughter of William and Grace Odell Ferguson. She attended Trenton schools and lived at Kansas City for a few years. On Nov. 16, 1947 she was married to Ross Colville in Trenton. He preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1978. After their marriage, they resided in Macon, where they owned and operated Standard Oil Company gas station. She moved to Chillicothe in 1981 to be near her family. Mrs. Colville was a member of the Macon Christian Church.
Mrs. Colville is survived by one nephew, Don Applegate of Kansas City; two nieces, Eleanor Applegate of Chillicothe and Evelyn Ferguson of Trenton; several great-nieces and nephews; and several great-great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Colville was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and two brothers.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. These may be left at or mailed to the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home at 813 Custer Street, Trenton, MO 64683.
