The Jamesport City Council met in regular session Tuesday at City Hall, approving a contract, issuing a liquor license and hiring a part-time employee.

According to City Clerk Carol Cass, the council voted to proceed with a contract between the Public Water Supply District #1 and the city of Jamesport and to issue a liquor license to Mr. and Mrs. Ron Ledesma. The council also agreed to purchase two public restroom signs.

In other business, the council tabled a discussion of an audit and was advised that a dumpster will be in town this week for spring cleanup efforts. The contract with Watertower Paint and Repair Co, Inc., of Clear Lake, IA, was approved for water tower maintenance and Cyle Fewins was hired as a part-time employee. The council also voted to purchase a model S185 Bobcat loader with a tooth bar and sweeper from Earley Tractor, Inc. of Cameron.

The next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. June 11.
