Marie Evelyn Lavely, a 93-year-old resident of Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton and former resident of Galt, passed away at 4:40 a.m. today (Friday, April 19, 2002).

Marie Evelyn Lavely, a 93-year-old resident of Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton and former resident of Galt, passed away at 4:40 a.m. today (Friday, April 19, 2002).
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2002 at the Payne Funeral Home of Galt. Burial will be in the Berry Cemetery north of Galt.
A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2002 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lavely was born on Oct. 13, 1908 in Forrest City, KS, the daughter of William and Lillie Atkinson Leytham. She was married to Harry Leon Lavely on Sept. 6, 1930 in Olathe, KS. He preceded her in death on July 10, 1978. They lived most all their married lives in the Galt community. She was a member of the Galt Christian Church.
Mrs. Lavely is survived by five sons, Donald Lavely of Derby, IA, Leroy Lavely of Marion, IA, Rodney Lavely of Brownsburg, IN, Bobby Lavely of Springfield and Richard ?Rick? Lavely of Spickard; four daughters, Rowena Williams of Porum, OK, Geneva Abell of Tallahassee, FL, Florence Rhodelander of Galt and Carolyn Crowley of Liberty; two sisters, Frances Travis of Kansas City and Eleanore Lavely of Mercer; and 42 grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lavely was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Claydene Lavely; two brothers, Harold Leytham and Herbert Leytham; and four sisters, Hazel Tharp, Gladys Middagh, Jane Betz and Ester Shira.
