The Harrison County R-4 Board of Education met Thursday night, changing graduation requirements and offering two contracts for teachers for next year.
Superintendent David Cross said the board agreed to increase science and math requirements from two each to three each, effective with this year?s freshman class. The total requirements for graduation will remain at 26, with the electives being decreased.
In other business, board members approved the purchase of filtering software for all district computers and offered contracts to all classified staff for the 2002-2003 school year. Contracts were offered to a social studies instructor and elementary instructor as well, with those names being withheld until the contracts are accepted.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for May 16.
