Charles Meek, a 70-year-old of 710 E. 17th St., Trenton, passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2002 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home, where he had been a resident for two days.

Charles Meek, a 70-year-old of 710 E. 17th St., Trenton, passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2002 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home, where he had been a resident for two days.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2002 at the Tenth Street Baptist Church in Trenton. Rev. Bill Stanturf will officiate. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Trenton.
A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2002 at the Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton.
Mr. Meek was born on Jan. 17, 1932 in Melbourne, the son of Raymond ?Pete? and Wilfreda Terhune Meek. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was married to Peggy Lankford on Sept. 16, 1955 in Trenton. They lived all their married lives in Trenton. He was a maintenance supervisor at Trenton Foods, where he worked for 31 years. Mr. Meek was a member of the Tenth Street Baptist Church.
Mr. Meek is survived by his wife, Peggy, of the home; one son, Wayne Meek and his wife, Becky of Siloam Springs, AR; one daughter, Rebecca Ann Clause of Kansas City; one sister, Winona Orndorff of Marshall; three half-brothers, Glenn Meek of Arizona, Eugene Meek of California and Gary Robb of Marshall; six grandchildren, Richard Leeper, Christopher Clause, Rhiannon Clause, Natalie Meek, Brian Meek and Craig Meek; and three great-grandchildren, Austin, Hannah and Brooklyn Leeper.
Mr. Meek was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Gretta Nicole Leeper.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Tenth Street Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
