Franklin ?Delano? Fordyce, a 64-year-old resident of Harris, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2002 at Kindred Rehabilitation Center in Kansas City, due to injuries he received in an accident on Jan. 10, 2002.

Franklin ?Delano? Fordyce, a 64-year-old resident of Harris, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2002 at Kindred Rehabilitation Center in Kansas City, due to injuries he received in an accident on Jan. 10, 2002.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2002 at the Payne Funeral Home of Galt. Burial will be in the Sprigg Cemetery in Putnam County.

A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2002 at the funeral home.

Mr. Fordyce was born on Aug. 8, 1937, the son of Millard Fillmore and Silvia Munden Fordyce. He farmed and worked around Jamesport for many years before moving to Harris, where he logged with his late brother, Tom, and he also farmed for Pat Gimes. He was married to Marlene Ann Pearce on Dec. 6, 1993 at Harris.

Mr. Fordyce is survived by his wife, Marlene, of Galt; six step-children, Chuck Zinn, Becky Mitchell and Kathy Pate, all of Minnesota, Delbert Shulz and his wife, Becky of Unionville, Kenny Pate and his wife, Linda, of Trenton, and Debbie Lea and her husband, Russell, of Galt; 17 step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Fordyce was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Tom Fordyce; and two sisters, Mary Hayden and Wonda June Pigg.

The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
