Helen Adalaid Wilson, a 94-year-old resident of South Lineville, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2002 at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Lineville, IA. Rev. Jack Stark will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville.
Open visitation and viewing is in progress at the funeral home. There is no scheduled family visitation.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Mercer County, near Ravanna, on Aug. 29, 1907, the daughter of Charles and Cora Lister Little. She was united in marriage to Lancing Arthur Wilson on July 14, 1954. He preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 1979. She was raised in Mercer County and moved to Kansas City in the early 1950?s, where she worked for Milgram?s Food Store. In the mid 1960?s, she and her husband moved to Stockton, where they lived for two years before returning to Mercer County and their home in South Lineville. Mrs. Wilson served as mayor of South Lineville for several years and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Lineville, IA and the Lineville-Mercer Christian Church in Mercer.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by one stepson, Dean Wilson and his wife, Janice, of Kansas City; one stepdaughter, Katie Murry and her husband, Harold, of Stockton; one brother, Frank Little and his wife, Bertha, of Victorville, CA; 18 step-grandchildren; 34 step-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Murrel Duffield; two brothers, Cecil and Paul Little; one stepson, Larry Wilson; one stepdaughter, Jean Stephanoff; and one step-great-grandson, C.J. Beydler.
