Keith Fairley, a 78-year-old resident of Newtown, passed away at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at his home in Newtown. Mr. Fairley had been in failing health for some time.

Keith Fairley, a 78-year-old resident of Newtown, passed away at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at his home in Newtown. Mr. Fairley had been in failing health for some time.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2002 at the Newtown Christian Church. Bro. Denny Daum will officiate. Burial will follow military graveside rites at the Ausbury Cemetery, located east of Harris.
A scheduled family visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2002 at the Payne Funeral Home in Galt.
Mr. Fairley was born on March 2, 1924 in Harris, the son of Ross Harold and Vila Fern McClaskey Fairley. He graduated from Harris School and then joined the United Stated Army. He served in Europe with the 612 Engineers during WWII. After his discharge he returned to Harris, where he started farming. He was married to Dorothy ?Dotty? May Walt on Nov. 9, 1952 in Trenton. She preceded him in death on Sept. 5, 1986. He farmed all his adult life in the Harris community and had lived all his life in the Harris and Newtown communities. He was a member of the Harris Christian Church.
Mr. Fairley is survived by two daughters, Melba Fordyce of Harris and Angela Huffman of Galt; three sons, Ron Fairley of Quincy, IL, Randy Fairley of Kirksville and Doug Fairley of Newtown; a special friend with whom he resided, Ellen Mattinson of the home in Newtown; one brother, Ray Fairley of Harris; and 14 grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Fairley was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth Fairley; and one sister, Thelma Wilhite.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions be given to the Newtown youth sports programs. These may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Home, P.O. Box 37, Galt, MO 64641.
