Ballots for the April 2 election may have to be reprinted at the cost of the Trenton R-9 School District after the name of one candidate for the R-9 school board was accidentally left off the ballot.

Grundy County Clerk L.D. Gibson said the name of Dawn ?Dusty? Stewart was left off the ballot when it was certified and the Missouri Secretary of State?s office has notified the county that it will have to obtain a court order from Associate Judge Steve Hudson to have the ballots reprinted. The cost of reprinting the 4,595 ballots for patrons in the R-9 District would be approximately $1,010. If a court order is not received, Ms. Stewart could contest the election and a new election would have to be held.

Gibson said 11 of the county?s precincts are in the R-9 District and 22 absentee ballots have already been sent out, with 12 ballots voted and returned. The Secretary of State?s office said those ballots will not be revoted. Some Trenton R-9 patrons reside in Livingston County and a court order from the Livingston County associate judge would have to be obtained for those ballots to be reprinted.
