The North Central Missouri College men?s basketball team wrapped up its regular season with a win on Satur-day afternoon as the Pirates hosted Forest Park Com-munity College in the Ketcham Community Center, 75-69

The PirateS also lost at Sedalia over the weekend, falling to State Fair Community College on Friday night, 93-71.

NCMC vs. Forest Park

The Pirates defeated the Highlanders by six points. Forest Park led by two points at the end of the first half, 38-36.The Pirates were up by as many as 12 points in the second half before holding off a late charge by Forest Park.

?I thought we did a pretty good job of battling our way back,? NCMC Head Coach Steve Richman said. ?We were a little lethargic, especially on the defensive side of the court. But that was expected because we got back late Friday night and then turned around and played Saturday afternoon.?

Cedric Ganaway led the Pirates with a game-high 19 points, all in the second half. Jason Lewis scored 14 points. Parish Brockman chipped in with 14 and Rodney Mayes added 12 points.

Ramon Adeyemo led Forest Park with 16 points.

NCMC vs. State Fair

The Pirates played a strong first half but then gave up 60 points in the second half. NCMC trailed by five points at halftime, 33-28.

?I am not sure what happened,? Richman said. ?We played a strong first half and then it just fell apart and State Fair ran away with the game.?

The Pirates were outscored in the second half, 60-43.

Ganaway led the way for NCMC with 20 points. Mayes had 12 points and Lewis scored 13 points.

The Pirates finish the regular season at 13-14 overall. The men?s Region 16 Tournament begins on Friday at Marshall.
