A rural Laredo couple was held at gunpoint this morning while their house was robbed by a suspect that remains at large.

According to information provided by the Grundy County Sheriff?s Department, the suspect came to the home of Rick and Gayle Hall, located about three miles east of Laredo, where he held the couple at gunpoint while they were tied up and gagged in the basement of the home. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry and fled from the scene. He was described as a male of middle Eastern or Hispanic descent, 6-feet tall and 220 pounds and wearing a black coat with a hood and a black scarf. He was said to be driving a black Honda, with a spoiler and Missouri plates. The license plate number was not known.

It took Mr. and Mrs. Hall about 20 minutes to free themselves and alert authorities to the robbery. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the sheriff?s department at 359-2828.
