Marvin Harrington, an 80-year-old longtime Jamesport resident, passed away at 3:50 a.m. today (Monday, Feb. 11, 2002) at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, where he had resided since Feb. 4, 2000.

Marvin Harrington, an 80-year-old longtime Jamesport resident, passed away at 3:50 a.m. today (Monday, Feb. 11, 2002) at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, where he had resided since Feb. 4, 2000.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002 at the Jamesport Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Jamesport Masonic Cemetery.
A family visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Thursday. General visitation will begin after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002 at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Jamesport.
Mr. Harrington was born in Jamesport on Feb. 25, 1921, the son of Harry Edgar and Alphia Alice Brown Harrington. He attended and graduated from Jamesport High School. He had lived all his life around Jamesport and farmed all his adult life. He also owned and operated Harrington Auction Service for many years in addition to owning and operating the T J and M E Antique Shop in Jamesport. Mr. Harrington also gave Surrey rides for many years during functions at Jamesport. He taught horsemanship for the Jamesport 4-H for many years. He was a member of the Jamesport Church of Christ, the Jamesport Lions Club and the Jamesport Saddle Club.
Mr. Harrington is survived by his wife, Emily Alice Harrington, of the home at 20342 314th St. in Jamesport; one daughter, Marva Ann Ross of Jamesport; two sons, Jim Harrington of Jamesport and Troy Harrington of Tulsa, OK; one brother, Nevin Harrington of Cross Timbers; four sisters, Marguritte McHargue of Ozark, Naomi Rees of Highlandville, Myrtle Wulf of Huntsville, AL and Harriett Utter of Tulsa, OK; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Harrington was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, two infants and Ralph Harrington; and one sister, Letha Mae Baxter.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Jamesport Church of Christ.
