Mary Berniece Smith, an 89-year-old resident of Brookfield, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002 at Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield.

Mary Berniece Smith, an 89-year-old resident of Brookfield, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002 at Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield.
Funeral serives will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, 2002 at the Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield. Rev. Mark Conyers will officiate. Burial will be in the Park Lawn Memory Gardens in Brookfield.
Visitation will begin after 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002 at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Mrs. Smith was born on Nov. 2, 1912 in Brookfield, the daughter of Henry and Susan Wombwell Smith. On June 22, 1930, she married Earl Smith, who preceded her in death on April 9, 1992. Mrs. Smith was retired from Brown Shoe Company in Brookfield.
Mrs. Smith is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Betty Stinson of Brookfield, Shirley and John Overton of Laclede and Sue and Henry Vandevender of Trenton; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Sandy Smith of Laclede; 11 grandchildren and spouses, Richard and Angie Stinson and Keith and Bev Stinson of Brookfield, Dennis and Judy Stinson and Angela and Greg Holloway of Fulton, Wayne Foltz of Auburn, WA, Cindy and Leslie Thompson of Hale, Debbie and Chris Shiflett of Meadville, Mike and Cindy Smith and Shawn and Becky Smith of Laclede, Alan Buckner of Osgood and Aron Vandevender of Sedalia; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; four sisters; and one son-in-law, Lester Stinson.
