Frank E. Wegenka Jr., a 69-year-old resident of Liberty, passed away on Monday, Feb. 4, 2002 at the Liberty Hospital.

Frank E. Wegenka Jr., a 69-year-old resident of Liberty, passed away on Monday, Feb. 4, 2002 at the Liberty Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002 at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Trenton.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002 at the Church-Archer-Pasley Chapel in Liberty.
Mr. Wegenka was born in St. Joseph on Feb. 14, 1932, the son of Frank E. and Elizabeth Ostrowski Wegenka Sr. He was raised in St. Joseph and had lived in the Kansas City-Liberty area for 20 years. He was employed by Southwestern Bell Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1985 as a supervisor. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid golfer.
Mr. Wegenka is survived by his wife of 17 years, Alice Sharp Wegenka, of the home; four daughters, Teresa Wesbster, Sharon Wegenka and Patricia Bratton, all of Kansas City and Cathy Fredrickson of Gladstone; one step-son, Rick Williams of Wasilla, AK; one step-daughter, Rocka Rasmussen of Atlantic, IA; one sister, Mary Ann Steele of Maryville; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Wegenka was preceded in death by his parents.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the St. Judes Children?s Hospital in care of the funeral home.
