William ?Paul? Jarrett, a 59-year-old resident of Galt, passed away at his residence in rural Galt at 3:18 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, where he was under hospice care.

William ?Paul? Jarrett, a 59-year-old resident of Galt, passed away at his residence in rural Galt at 3:18 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, where he was under hospice care.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002 at the Payne Funeral Home in Galt. Bro. Stan Richardson will officiate. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery, southwest of Galt.

A family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002 at the funeral home.

Mr. Jarrett was born in Shaw, MS on April 2, 1942, the son of Will Sullivan and Mabel Tharpe Jarrett. He was married to Joan Doeseckle on Sept. 2, 1961 at Danville, IL. After graduation from Linn High School at Shaw, MS, he moved to Chicago, IL and went to work for the Rock Island Railroad in 1960. He moved to rural Galt in 1971 and continued working for the Rock Island Railroad in Trenton. In 1980 he started working for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, where he continued working for 12 years. After a short semi-retirement, he drove an OATS van in Trenton for approximately six years. He was a member of the UTU union for 32 years.

Mr. Jarrett is survived by his wife, Joan, of the home; one daughter, Paula ?Jeannie? Eide and her husband, Jon, of Osceola, IA; two sons, William Jarrett of Kansas City and Jeff Jarrett and his wife, Cynthia, of Tindall; two sisters, Olivia Killebren of Gulf Port, MS and Emma Louise Gentry of Hot Springs, AR; and five grandchildren, Robin Jarrett, Jacob Lamp, Tyler Eide, Josh Jarrett and Elizabeth Jarrett.

Mr. Jarrett is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, J.T., James and Robert.

The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Hospice 2000 of Kirksville. These may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Home, P.O. Box 37, Galt, MO 64641.
