Florence Agnes McDermott died Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 19, 1999, at her home in Gallatin. She was 75 years old.

Florence Agnes McDermott died Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 19, 1999, at her home in Gallatin. She was 75 years old.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Brown Cemetery at Gallatin.

Friends may call at the Bram Funeral Home in Gallatin from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday. There is no family visitation scheduled.

Ms. McDermott was born on Dec. 3, 1923 in San Antonio, Tx. She was raised in Denver and attended Sheridan High School. She was married to Edward Melton in 1941 in Littleton, Co. They later divorced.

Ms. McDermott received a nursing certificate from Saint Luke’s Hospital in Denver, and was employed as a practical nurse at Saint Joseph Hospital and later at the Lamm Memorial Hospital in Denver. Ms. McDermott, who moved to Missouri in 1972, worked as a care-giver for seniors in Sweet Springs, Marshall and Gallatin before retiring in 1995.

Ms. McDermott was a member of the Gallatin First Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Edward T. Melton of Denver, Co.; one daughter, Connie Lee Kresak of Thornton, Co.; three nieces, Patricia Hawes of Lake Viking, and Mary L. Perole, and Francine Perole, both of Gallatin; one nephew, Frank William Perole of Gallatin; and two grandchildren.

Ms. McDermott was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Alexander and Ida Katherine (Williams) McDermott; one brother, Albert McDermott; and two sisters, Alida Roach and Susan D. Perole.

Contributions have been suggested to Comfort Care Hospice in memory of Ms. McDermott. These may be left at the funeral home.
