The Trenton High School girls golf team is fourth heading into Tuesday’s final round of the Missouri State High School Activities Association Golf Tournament in Sedalia.
The Lady Bulldogs shot a 379 on Monday to finish in a tie for fourth place with Visitation Academy among 16 teams. Villa Duchesne is first with a 352, while St. Joseph’s Academy is second at 360 and St. Joseph Central is third with a 373. In sixth place is Lee’s Summit at 385, followed by Francis Howell, 387; Notre Dame deSion, 393; Columbia Hickman and Richmond, 393; Glendale, 406; Kirksville, 408; Springfield Hillcrest, 416; Moberly, 419; Tarkio, 422; and Jefferson City Helias, 435.
Lesley McKay shot a 91 to finish in a tie for 31st place while Sarah Slonecker’s 93 placed her in a tie for 34th. Other Trenton golfers and their scores include Crystal Fox, 96, tied for 46th; Jill Henderson, 99 tied for 65th; and Andrea Simpson, 107, tied for 97th. Mindy Bullard of Warrensburg shot a 76 on the par-71 course to finish first. The top 15 individuals earn medals while the top four teams receive a plaque.
