The Trenton High School Golden Bulldog Marching Band had a first-place finish in field competition held Saturday at the Blue Springs Band Festival.
Trenton took top honors in the Class 2A division, which is based on school size. Carrollton finished second while Creighton-Sherwood was third. Band Director Jamie Baker said the band has a “very good show” and that band’s musical performance helped them take a “decisive victory” in the competition.
The band will take part Tuesday in the Missouri Western State College Tournament of Champions at St. Joseph. Trenton is one of five bands competing in Class 1A, which is based on the band size. A total of 25 bands will take part in the event.
