Grundy County residents will have a chance to get in the spirit of Missouri Day by participating in a yard decorating contest the week of the Missouri Day Festival, Oct. 15-17.
The contest is open to all county residents, with monetary prizes of $50 and $35 going to the top two yards. Judging will take place Oct. 11 and 12 and winners will be recognized during the opening ceremonies of the festival on Thursday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church.
Entries are being accepted at the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce office, with the entry deadline being Oct. 8. For more information, persons can contact Joyce Herrold at 673-6167.
