Grundy County 4-H members were recognized for the achievements during the past year at the annual Grundy County 4-H Recognition Program, held Saturday at the Pleasant View R-6 School.

Grundy County 4-H members were recognized for the achievements during the past year at the annual Grundy County 4-H Recognition Program, held Saturday at the Pleasant View R-6 School.
Named as Outstanding 4-H Members of the Year were Katie Kinney and Zach Plumb, received the Farm Credit Service bond. Blake Baugher was named honorable mention winner.
The Outstanding 4-H Girls, 13-and-under, were Ciara Gibson and Charlene Altenderfer, while Lea Ann Griffin and Katie Kinney were the winners in the age 14-and-over divisions. The Outstanding 4-H Boy, 13-and-under, was Josh Maxwell. Blake Baugher was the 1r-and-over winner.
“I Dare You” awards went to Zach Plumb and Blake Baugher. Zach Bevel won the “Lucille Teegarden Award” and was honored for 10 years of membership in 4-H.
The Rabbit Ridge Rustlers 4-H Club was recognized for 50 years of services. Marian Campbell, who started the club, was named the 1999 Friend of 4-H, while Lelan Ryan, who was the county extension agent at the time, received a plaque.
Special recognition went to Patsy Griffin for her participation in the VAP program, which has led to donations for the Grundy County 4-H from the Wal-Mart Foundation; and Vicki Pash, Patsy Griffin, Susan Plumb and the Frank Kinney Family, for their support of Grundy County 4-H projects.
Others honors and awards presented were:
Foods Award – Zach Belvel, Lea Ann Griffin, Jessica Pash and Rebecca Maxwell. Miss Maxwell was recognized for having the top international foods demonstration at the Missouri State Fair.
Fashion Selection-Interstate – Lea Ann Griffin and Zach Plumb.
Interstate Participants – Lea Ann Griffin and Zach Belvel.
Fashion Revue-State Dress Revue – Jessica Pash.
Cake Decorating Awards – Katie Kinney, Tabitha Glenn and Megan Hilsabeck.
FCE Neatest Report Form Award – Zach Plumb. Jeffrey Saul received honorable mention.
FCE Secretary Award – Kenton Kinney; honorable mention to secretaries of the Rabbit Ridge Rustlers-Green, Grundy County Horsemanship, Oak Leaf Achievers and Helping Hands 4-H clubs.
Leader Recognition – Susan Plumb, Kim Tate, Chris Runyan and Lisa runyan, five years; Patsy Griffin and Jeannie Gibson, 10 years; and Mary Ellen Johnson and Leeila Kilburn, 15 years.
