Beulah Stottlemyre Chandler, 97, died Sept. 14, 1999 at the Independence Regional Health Center in Independence. She was a former resident of Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, at the First Assembly of God Church in Trenton. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Trenton.
Mrs. Chandler, the daughter of Isaac and Anna Elizabeth Merrill Stottlemyre, was born on Sept. 17, 1901 in Spickard. She was married to Wilbur L. Chandler on July 2, 1927. The couple made their home in Trenton. Mr. Chandler died on March 3, 1935. Mrs. Chandler continued to live in Trenton as a homemaker. She was also employed at Swift and Company for 11 years. Mrs. Chandler had made her home in Independence with her daughter, Donna Chandler, during the past 30 years.
Mrs. Chandler had been a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Trenton for more than 60 years, and had taught Sunday school at the church for approximately 40 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Joan Offield of Kansas City, Joyce Copple of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and Donna Chandler of Independence; three grandchildren, Stephen Copple of Hanoi, Vietnam, Joel Copple of Phnom Penh, and Stanley Offield of Kansas City; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Chandler was also preceded in death by her parents, and 10 brothers and sisters, Claud Stottlemyre, Clint Stottlemyre, Coy Stottlemyre, Bonnie Stottlemyre, Lowell Stottlemyre, Lilly Stottlemyre, Alice Blackburn, Bessie Hill, Viola Jones, and Nellie Clark.
