Saddie Eula Meeks died at 1:25 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, at the Milan Health Care facility in Milan, where she had been a resident since 1996. She was 82 years old.

Graveside rites were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Elmwood Cemetery, north of Milan. Brother Bart Hadaway officiated. Interment was in the Elmwood Cemetery, under the direction of the Payne Funeral Home of Galt.
Mrs. Meeks, the daughter of Roy and Lena Yardley Hines, was born on Sept. 14, 1916 near Newtown. She was married to William Earl Meeks in Unionville. They lived in the Harris community most of their married life. Mr. Meeks died on Jan. 2, 1993.
Mrs. Meeks is survived by a brother, Richard Hines of Joplin.
