Edward Eugene Groves, 74, died at 8:40 a.m. today, Sept. 3, 1999, at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, where he had been a resident since Sept. 28, 1998.

Edward Eugene Groves, 74, died at 8:40 a.m. today, Sept. 3, 1999, at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, where he had been a resident since Sept. 28, 1998.

Graveside rites will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens at Trenton.

A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton.

Mr. Groves was born on Oct. 8, 1924 on a farm southwest of Modena, in Mercer County, the son of Virgil and Cecil Gladys Ball Groves. He attended Princeton schools, and had lived in the Mt. Moriah area for several years before moving to Trenton. Mr. Groves was employed as a laborer on several farms.

Mr. Groves was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include two sons, Randy Groves of Spickard, and Danny Groves of Trenton; two brothers, William Laverne Groves of Kansas City, Ks., and Russell Groves of Hermitage; and three grandchildren.
