The Trenton Planning and Zoning Commission is recommending two zoning changes for approval by the Trenton City Council following public hearings Wednesday night.

Hal and Joyce Courter are asking that property they own at 1107 E. 8th St. be rezoned from C-3, highway service commercial, to C-1, general commercial. They plan to build a house at that site, which will also include a home office for a business they plan to operate from there. There were no objections.

Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri is asking for a variance from the required footage for a lighted sign it plans to place at its business, located at 1801 E. 28th St. The sign will include a computerized message board. There were no objections.

The requests will be sent to the council for consideration at its Sept. 8 meeting.
