Four persons were injured in a five-vehicle chain reaction accident Thursday morning.
According to the Trenton Police Department, the accident occurred when a truck driven by Mitch Perry of 451 S.W. 20th St., was traveling westbound on Ninth Street when he looked away from the road and struck the rear of the truck in front of his, driven by Brenda Brown, 413 E. 24th St., which then hit the truck in of front of her, driven by Larry R. Cox, 1016 Lake Trenton Drive. Cox’s truck then struck a car driven by Andrea L. Simpson of 2106 Haddox St., which then hit a van driven by Rochelle Woodard of 170 S.E. Lilac Ln.
Perry, his passenger Kevin Wyatt of 398 Iowa Blvd., as well as Ms. Brown and her passenger, Rebecca Brown, were all injured and taken to Wright Memorial Hospital for treatment. Perry suffered a small laceration to his head and an abrasion to the right arm. Wyatt was treated for a broken nose. Ms. Brown complained of neck pain, left shoulder and aim pain, as well as pain in both knees. Rebecca Brown complained of back pain.
Perry’s truck and Ms. Brown’s truck were totaled and had to be towed from the scene. Cox’s truck and Ms.Simpson’s car sustained moderate damage, with Cox’s truck towed. Ms.Woodard’s van sustained very minor damage.
Perry, 18, was ticketed for careless and imprudent driving by striking a vehicle stopped in traffic.
