George Junior Jones, 80, a resident of Gallatin, died Tuesday, July 27, 1999, at the Heartland Regional Medical Center West in St. Joseph.

George Junior Jones, 80, a resident of Gallatin, died Tuesday, July 27, 1999, at the Heartland Regional Medical Center West in St. Joseph.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 30, at the Hillcrest Cemetery at Gallatin.
Friends may call at the Bram Funeral Home in Gallatin until 8 o’clock tonight, July 29, and after 9 a.m. Friday.
Mr. Jones was born on July 22, 1919 on the family farm near Gallatin. A lifelong resident of Daviess County, he was employed for many years as an auto mechanic for the Blackburn and Hockensmith Motor Company in Gallatin. He also worked for the city of Gallatin as street maintenance supervisor and at the Robertson Quarries in DeKalb County.
Mr. Jones was married to Velma Ruth Webster. They were divorced. He was married to Dorothy Watts. She preceded him in death. He later was married to Frances Barnett, and they divorced.
Mr. Jones served with the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the Gallatin First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one brother, Donald Jones of Cameron, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Jones was also preceded in death by his parents, George Washington and Harriet Isadore (Curtis) Jones; three brothers, Oren C., Omer, and James; and five sisters, Frances Ayres, Leona Woody, Offa Woody, Violet Tucker, and Leora Albrecht.
