Emmett Lee Selby, a resident of 704 West Fifth St., Trenton, died this morning, July 19, 1999, at the Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton. He was 100 years old.

Emmett Lee Selby, a resident of 704 West Fifth St., Trenton, died this morning, July 19, 1999, at the Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton. He was 100 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, at the Tenth Street Baptist Church. Rev. Kenneth Hull will officiate. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery, northwest of Tindall.
A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton.
Mr. Selby was born on Oct. 19, 1898 in Grundy County, the son of John and Lydia Ratliff Selby. He attended schools in Polk County, and was married to Carmen June Limes on Sept. 3, 1921 in Chillicothe. She died on Feb. 8, 1997.
Mr. Selby, who lived in Grundy County and Trenton most of his life, was a farmer. He was a member of the Tenth Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Willa Beck of the home; two grandsons, Alton R. Beck and Rayburn L. Beck of Rockville, Md.; and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Morgan of Chillicothe.
Besides his wife and parents, Mr. Selby was preceded in death by an infant sister, Lula Selby.
Contributions have been suggested to the Tenth Street Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Mr. Selby.
