Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel McComas, 81, who died early Thursday morning, July 8, 1999, at her home at 1103 E. 10th St., Trenton, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at the Gilman City Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Gilman City Masonic Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel McComas, 81, who died early Thursday morning, July 8, 1999, at her home at 1103 E. 10th St., Trenton, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at the Gilman City Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Gilman City Masonic Cemetery.
A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton.
Mrs. McComas was born on April 24, 1918 at Eagleville, the daughter of Bert A. and Myrtle Cunningham Allen. She was raised in the Coin, Ia. area, and was married to Curtis McComas on July 1, 1935 in Albany.
Mr. and Mrs. McComas lived and farmed in the Pattonsburg, Albany and Gilman City communities all of their married life. They retired and moved to Trenton in 1971. Mr. McComas died on July 5, 1995.
Mrs. McComas was a member of the Gilman City Baptist Church, but had attended the First Baptist Church in Trenton for a number of years. She was also a member of the Wright Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and Church Women United, and had volunteered at the Clothing Shelter for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Lonna Carlson of Davis, Ca., and Judi McComas of Memphis, Tn.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. McComas was preceded in death by two brothers, and two sisters.
