Blanche Elizabeth Baker, 99, died Wednesday, June 30, 1999, in Kaneohe, Hi. She was a native of Galt.
Ms. Baker’s body was donated to the University of Hawaii Medical School. No memorial service is scheduled.
Ms. Baker was born on May 12, 1900 in Galt, the daughter of Henry and Anna Frazier Baker. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a master’s degree from Columbia University in New York. She was a former superintendent of schools in Grundy County.
Ms. Baker moved to Las Cruces, N.M., in the mid-1940s, and was principal of the Central and Valley View Elementary Schools. She retired in 1960 and moved to Hawaii in 1969.
Ms. Baker was a member of the Parker United Methodist Church of Kaneohe.
Ms. Baker was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Russell, in infancy.
