Funeral services for Violet Gibson, a native of Daviess County, were held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday), June 9, at Bram Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial was at Graceland Memorial Cemetery in Cameron. Memorials may be made to Comfort Care Hospice, 314 West 4th St., Cameron, MO 64429.

Violet Jane (Brown) Gibson, 63, Cameron, died June 6, 1999, at her home.

Mrs. Gibson was born on a farm northwest of Jamesport in the Old Scotland Community of Daviess County. She attended Old Scotland Country School and graduated from Gallatin High School in 1953.

Mrs. Gibson, a homemaker, worked as an office manager at the Graham Paper Company in North Kansas City, retiring in 1984.

Mrs. Gibson was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Gallatin and more recently in Cameron. She had served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader in the Mid-Continent Girl Scout Council for several years.

In 1956, she married Waldo V. Gibson in Gallatin. He survives of the home. After their marriage, they lived in Kansas City for 27 years before moving to Coffey in 1984 where they farmed until January 1999. The Gibsons lived in Cameron for six months.

Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by two brothers, Jason and William Brown.

Other survivors include two daughters, Terri Gibson-Zink, Gladstone, and Jerri Schleicher, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
