The Trenton High School boys’ tennis team was handed a 9-0 loss on the road on Monday afternoon in Kirksville.
In singles play, Jacob Davis lost 8-0, Bryce Whitney fell 8-2, Kade Ockenfels lost 8-3, Creed Houghton lost 8-0, Wyatt Neal fell 8-6 and Dylan May lost 8-2. Doubles action saw Whitney and Ockenfels defeated 8-3, Davis and Houghton were beaten 8-2 and Neal and May wereupended 8-4.
The Bulldogs fell to 3-5 on the season with the loss.
Junior varsity action didn’t go any better for Trenton as CJ Sibbit and Zack Maberry lost 8-1 and 9-7 and Colten Hamilton and Weston Otto lost 8-2 and 8-1.
Trenton’s tennis dual with Lafayette today in St. Joseph has been cancelled. The Bulldogs will be back on the court next Monday, playing host to Kirksville in a rematch.
