Pleasant View R-6 Board Hears Update, Accepts Bid

The Pleasant View R-6 Board of Education heard an update and approved a bid during its meeting on Tuesday night.
Superintendent Rebecca Steinhoff said recent water damage in the third and fifth grade classrooms will be repaired over the Thanksgiving break by Catco of Kansas City. Approval was given to a bid by Zane Jones for purchase of a 1,500-pound butcher steer at a cost of 95 cents per pound. The board held a second reading of the Title IX policy update and reviewed a draft of the 2019-20 audit, which is scheduled to be approved at the December meeting.
Mrs. Steinhoff reported nine students are quarantined at this time due to COVID-19. She told of several upcoming activities including an early-out on Nov. 13 for parent-teacher conferences; second quarter mid-term on Nov. 30; an early out on Nov. 24 and no classes on Nov. 25-26 due to the Thanksgiving holiday; and an early out on Dec. 18 and no school on Dec. 21 to Jan. 1 for Christmas break.
An executive session was held with no announcements made. The next board meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8.
