The filing period for the Aug. 4 Primary Election will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 25 and run through Tuesday, March 31.
Those who wish to file in Grundy County may do so in the county clerk’s office, located on the second floor of the courthouse. Filing will open for the following county offices, with the incumbent listed in parentheses: first district commissioner (Don Sager); second district commissioner (Joe Brinser); sheriff (Rodney Herring); treasurer (Barb Harris); assessor (Kathy Veatch); public administrator (Jill Eaton); and coroner (Dewayne Slater). Those filing will need to provide a copy of their 5120 tax affidavit, which should be sent to the state, and a copy of their paid party receipt. In addition, those filing for sheriff will need a peace officer’s license and those filing for treasurer and public administrator will need to provide proof of their ability to be bonded.
