Trenton got off to another dreadful start, put together a tremendous second quarter before fading in the second half and losing its Grand River Conference opener to the Tigers, 71-49.
Princeton would lead 23-3 after the initial eight minutes, but a 21-7 Bulldog run in the second quarter brought Trenton back into the game. Trenton cut the lead to a mere four points in the third quarter before Princeton took off, handing Trenton a 22-point loss.
Chase Otto led Trenton (1-6, 0-1 GRC) with 19 points, eight rebounds and three assists while Gavin Roeder had 13 points and Brycin Loyd finished with nine. Jaren Whitney added six points and seven rebounds and Royce Jackson had two points and six rebounds.
Princeton (5-2, 1-0 GRC) got 28 points from Preston Thomas, 12 from Austin Kelly and 11 from Colton Estes.
On Friday, Trenton travels to South Harrison while the Tigers play host to Gallatin.
