Mary Ann Hines, a 68-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 5:34 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
A family visitation will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, 2019 at the mortuary.
Mrs. Hines was born on Feb. 12, 1951 at Mercer, the daughter of Albert and JoAnn Clark Stark. She graduated from Newtown High School and lived in Mercer and Princeton before moving to Trenton. She drove a water truck for many years, hauling water to local residents. She also worked for many years at Ragan’s Grocery Store. She later worked side-by-side with her husband, James Hines, at their shop, Jim and Mary’s Quick Lube, until she became ill with Alzheimer’s. She loved being a grandmother and will be sadly missed by all. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, James.
She was married On June 13, 1951 at Newtown to James Lee Hines, who preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 2018.
Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Blake and her husband, John of Bellevue, NE; one son, Lee Hines and his wife, Meletta of Trenton; seven grandchildren, Casey Noble, Earl Hines, Tyler Hines, Ryan Hines, Jacob Lamp, Joshua Jarrett and Elizabeth Jarrett; several great-grandchildren; and eight brothers and sisters, Rita Stark, Dave Stark and Jesse Stark all of Mercer, Coral May and Donnie Stark of Princeton, Loretta Tjarks of Modena and Debbie Peek and Terry Cox of Corydon, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Zachary Ryan Lamp; one sister, Goldie Thunau; and four brothers, James Lee Stark, Albert Dale Stark, Forest Wayne Stark and Daniel Dea Stark.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and may be left at or mailed to the mortuary.
