The Trenton Art Guild hosted a fall art critique on Saturday at the Dorris Rider Art Gallery on the campus of North Central Missouri College. A total of 21 artists participated in the event, bringing one piece of art to be critiqued by Don Stall, a self-taught artist from Alma, pictured at right. Stall works primarily in pencil, but also does work in pen and ink and oils as well as woodcarving and clay sculpture. He has done illustrations for State Farm and Kendall Hunt Publishing along with illustrating several children’s books, including many children’s books of his own. He currently owns a studio and gallery in Alma and also teaches portraiture classes. Pictured with Stall is Merlin Vandevender of Chula, left, who brought his artwork, “Blue Waves.”
