Trenton’s Bradyn Hughs runs through the Princeton defense during the Bulldogs’ wild 38-32 middle school football win on Monday night at C.F. Russell Stadium. Hughs rushed for 100 yards, three touchdowns and two 2-point conversions in the win. Gabe Stark led Trenton with 155 rushing yards, two touchdowns and a pair of 2-point conversions. Trenton fell behind 16-6 in the opening quarter, but scored two touchdowns in the second quarter to go into the locker room up 22-16 at halftime. Each team scored once in both the third and fourth quarters, trading blows until the final whistle, with the Bulldogs on top by five points. “We came out slow, but picked up the intensity in the second quarter,” TMS Head Coach Jon Guthrie said. “Bradyn Hughs and Gabe Stark had very good games offensively. The offensive line did a much better job this game as well, getting blocks down field on some big runs. The boys showed grit, coming from behind to win. I’m very proud of them.” Defensively, Charlie Riley had four tackles and an interception. Gavin Cagle and Cameron Christy each had four tackles as well. Trenton, now 3-1, travels to Milan on Monday, Oct. 7, taking on the Wildcats at 5 p.m.
