Jimmie Dean Hicks
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018 at the Southpoint Cemetery in Orrick. The family will receive guests at the Orrick Christian Church after the graveside service.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.
Mr. Hicks was born on April 5, 1943 in Orrick, the son of Wilbur and Billie Vandiver Hicks. He was a 1961 graduate of Orrick High School and attended the University of Missouri. He and his parents moved to Trenton in 1964 to operate the Lakeview Restaurant. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves for six years and was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Trenton. He farmed most his life in Grundy and Livingston counties before retiring in 2001 due to failing health.
He was married on Oct. 30, 1964 in Trenton to Venna Trump Hicks, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, James Hicks and his wife, Stephanie of Lee’s Summit and Billy Hicks of Kansas City; a daughter, Jill Reeter and her husband, Chad of Trenton; and three grandchildren, Steven Hicks of Lee’s Summit and Seth and Jenna Reeter of Trenton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Gail Jane Hicks, who died in infancy.
The family suggests memorial contributions to South Point Cemetery in Orrick, the North Central Missouri Fair in Trenton or the Green Hills Animal Shelter in Trenton. They may be left at or mailed to Resthaven Morutary of Trenton, which is in charge of arrangements.
