The Grundy R-5 High School softball team saw its season come to a close on Thursday night at the Class 1, District 11 Tournament in Chillicothe. Grundy, which defeated Bucklin-Macon County in the opening round on Tuesday in Brunswick by an 18-8 score, fell 15-5 to top-seeded Bevier in the semifinal, bringing to a close the Panthers’ 2018 campaign.
Against Bucklin-Macon County, Grace Larson had three hits and two RBIs while Anna Milazzo had two hits and four RBIs. Emma Baxter had two hits as well and drove in two runs. Against Bevier, Emily Otto led the way, going two-for-three with two RBIs.
The semifinal loss gave Grundy a final record of 7-11.
