Poosey Fall Tour Is Oct. 21

Oct 9, 2018 | Headline News

The 32nd annual Poosey Conservation Area fall tour is scheduled on Sunday, Oct. 21.
“Recreational Opportunities” is the theme for this year’s tour, which begins at Pike’s Lake, located just off Route W and County Road 502 in Livingston County. Gates open at noon and the last vehicle will be allowed to begin at 4 p.m. Gravel roads are graded, however, the route involves steep slopes and crossings in low areas and high-clearance vehicles are recommended.
Tour visitors will be able to drive on roads not normally open to the public for vehicles. The Missouri Department of Conservation will have conservation education stations along the route and visitors can talk with staff about forest and grassland management, wildlife habitat and tips for improving fishing in ponds and lakes.
For tour information, persons can contact MDC Resource Forester Samantha Anderson at 660-646-6122.
