Gerald V. Wilcox Sr., an 82-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Saturday evening May 5, 2018 at Mosaic Life Care in St Joseph,.
The body was cremated under the direction of Slater Funeral Home of Trenton. No services are planned.
Mr. Wilcox was born on Dec. 16, 1935 in Newton, IA the son of George and Ella Bowie Wilcox. He graduated from Newton (IA) High School. Before retiring he was a self-employed truck driver.
He was married in Trenton on Oct. 15, 2005 to Trudie Renn, who survives of the home.
He is also survived by four daughters, Barbara Doyle and her husband, Harvey of Dyersburg, TN, Sheryl Van Baale and her husband, Terry of Newton, Melissa McConnell and her husband, Ron of Des Moines, IA and Tina Dittermer of Newton; one step-daughter, Frankie Faye Marrs of Trenton; two sons, Frank Wilcox and his wife, Robin of Donna, TX and Gerald Wilcox Jr. and his wife, Connie of Newton; two step-sons, Paul Gingerich of Grand Rapids, MI and Daniel Marrs of St. Louis; 22 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Tudy Ashby of Newton; and one brother Johnny Wilcox of Newton.
He preceded in death by his parents; one step-son, Lee Marrs; 15 brothers and sisters; and two great-grandchildren.
