The Princeton City Council approved a bid for life insurance at its meeting on Tuesday, April 10.
A bid from Farm Bureau was accepted at a rate of $139.77 per month. The current provider, Mutual of Omaha, had informed the city it would be increasing its coverage rate to $276 per month.
In other business, a request from Princeton Football Coach Thomas Hotmer to change the date of the football karaoke event to July 27 was approved. The oath of office was given to newly-elected council members Tony Johnson, north ward, and Eddy Oswalt, south ward, as well as to Mayor Kurt Meighen.
The council set a special meeting for 6 p.m. on Monday, April 23 to discuss the budget.
