A Trenton man is facing a charge of felony stealing, while a local woman is being held on bad check charges.
According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, William E. Grimes IV, 27, is charged with the class E felony of stealing, fourth or subsequent offense. He is accused of stealing a FitBit from Shopko on March 13. Grimes is being held on $10,000 cash-only bond, with a court date of April 24.
Also arrested was Brandy Knapp, a 41-year-old Trenton woman. She is charged with three class A misdemeanors of passing bad checks, with all of the checks written to Amoco BP. Two checks were written on July 3, 2017 in the amount of $40 and $45, while the third check was written on July 4, 2017 for $50. Bond on this charge is $1,000 cash only, however, she also has a $1,000 cash-only bond on a charge of failing to appear in court on two counts of violating a protection order for an adult, both class A misdemeanors, for which she was also arrested. She is also scheduled to appear in court April 24.
